This workshop will provide an opportunity to encounter the work of researchers on the areas of managing water and wetland resources with the aim of integrating development within environmental constraints. The workshop will welcome any contribution on the problems raised by water management in the context of socioeconomic development in African regions. There will be discussions on water management, solutions and proposals for dealing with the problems posed to communities aiming at their development and integration with environmental resources that could have an application in the African context. Particular encouragement will be devoted to proposals that will help to improve the quality of life of the communities living in wetlands and humid areas, and to the measures that must be undertaken to reduce the threats posed by climate change and other environmental risks.
